Sporangia solitary or widely scattered on substrate, pale buff, stalked, to 1mm tall. Sporocysts spherical or slightly ovate, 0.4 mm diameter (sometimes slightly larger), stalk to 0.6 mm, pale, slender, stuffed with spherical cells. Peridium fugacious, revealing a compact elastic capillitium decorated with ridges and spines.

Calyculus small, cup shaped.

Spores spherical, minutely warted, 7-9 µm Ø.

On oak bark cultured in a moist chamber for 10 days at room temperature.
